NEW MUSIC: Prince - "Electric Intercourse" (Studio Version)

From the forthcoming deluxe version of "Purple Rain", dropping June 23, 2017,

NPG Records and Warner Bros. have released the first single from the project,

the official studio version of the legendary bootlegged track, "Electric Intercourse".

Originally premiered live at First Avenue, during the same concert that brought 

the released version of "Purple Rain".

The new collection, "Purple Rain Deluxe", will feature the original album, remastered in 2015,

along with a 2nd disc of vault material such as "Electric Intercourse", and a 3rd of B-Sides, remixes, and edits. An expanded version will include a DVD of an out-of-print concert,

"Prince & The Revolution: LIVE!". 

The initial press reports regarding "Purple Rain Deluxe" mentioned 2 disc of unreleased material and 2 full concert DVDs, but...  I guess we'll take what we can get.

Also rumored to be released on June 23rd are the long-out-of-print vinyl picture disc

of "Purple Rain", along with a 180g vinyl version, and various 12" singles from the era.

Check out the studio version of "Electric Intercourse" above, which was ultimately replaced with "The Beautiful Ones".

I must admit, this version sounds more like a "1999" outtake, due to the vocal delivery.

I dig it, but I dig the live/rehearsal versions more.
