NEW MUSIC: Prince (@Prince3EG) - "Stare" Is A Lesson in FUNK

I'd been waiting to here the rest of this track since I heard snippets of it leaked on Prince's YouTube page a little while back.
Released as a Spotify exclusive, the first thing you notice on this song, "Stare", is the lesson in FUNK that is much needed in pop music right now,
The bass line that's just softly slapping you in the face from the first second of the track.
The straight-forward drums. The rhythm guitar countering the bass, staying in the pocket and both not moving a muscle. The horns just accenting the funk until about 2 minutes in where they just go IN (Shoutout to the NPG Hornz). Lastly Prince's subdued vocals, with unexpected, but welcome, nods to Prince classics "Kiss" and "Sexy Dancer".
It really is just a great, short funk dissertation from a master, all the way down to the "false fade" a la James Brown starting at about 2:30.
"Stare" is expected to be part of Prince's upcoming new album "Hit & Run", that's rumored to drop any minute now. The first official single from the album was "HARDROCKLOVER", which was exclusively streaming via Soundcloud on July 1st before
being released on iTunes on July 7th.
